MEET
FRANZ WERTVOLLEN

Writer · Philosopher · Visual Artist

HIS LITERATURE, PHILOSOPHY, AND VISUAL ART BELONG TO THE SAME CREATIVE WORLD.

Art should show us
what lies beyond ourselves.

Art shouldn't merely comfort us or reflect who we already are. Franz Wertvollen believes it should reveal something beyond us—something worth understanding, pursuing, or becoming.

ONE
WORLD,
MANY
FORMS

Wertvollen's visual work grows from the same world as his literature and philosophy.

Characters from his novels appear in drawings; stories become scenes; poems continue ideas found in paintings. Mythology and legend exist alongside figures from his own fictional universe.
